GST practitioners are required to write and clear an exam to further keep their status quo.
However exam is rescheduled to December 17, 2018 as per press notification issued by Ministry of Finance.

The decision is taken in relation to government officials busy with election works.
GST practitioners are important bodies in GST implementation as they can directly file returns of tax payers from their login credentials and tax payers have to accept the returns.
GST practitioners are registered under GST with same procedure as a normal GST registration.
With latest updates, a requirement was fixed to clear GST practitioner exam. However GST practitioners through out the country have shown their discomfort for examination requirement as they have already proven track records and educational qualification to practice under GST.
The examination requirement by many practitioners is considered an extra burden as GST practitioners do not enjoy any extra benefit because of it such as GST audit.
