However, as per our sources, the Finance Ministry has decided to extended Income Tax Audit due date by 2 months and an extension may be announced by today evening.

Our sources have further reported that an extension decision has been taken based on statistics presented to the ministry by various trade and professional associations.

Further it may be noted that Income Tax website is not working properly at the moment and tax payers are facing problem in filing IT returns.
