WHETHER TRADER IS REQUIRED TO PAY PROFESSIONAL TAX
Yes even traders need to pay profession tax.
Profession tax does not mean only professionals have to pay. Traders, manufacturers, employees ( subject to conditions) and everyone doing business has to pay profession tax.
Profession tax was not subsumed by GST.
But first you have to check whether profession tax is applicable in your state or not. For example, in Delhi there is no profession tax whereas in Karnataka profession tax is applicable.
