How to search GST number with name?

Sorry to inform you but there is no such facility as of now.

GST details can be verified after you login to your account but only with GSTIN or UIN.

The search facility to check GST details with name of tax payer is not provided.

There is no option as of now to search GST number with name.

Unfortunately GST department has not released such list.

However you have the functionality to check GSTIN details with GST number after login to your account.

You cannot search GST number of someone with GST number. This option is not made available by GSTIN as of now.

I do not think GST will allow searching with name functionality as this will be against privacy.

To search details of a GSTIN follow below process:

• Go to GST website
• Click on Search Taxpayer
• Click on SEARCH BY GSTIN/UIN
• A form will open, fill the GSTIN of the party
• Fill the captcha
• Click on SEARCH button

Details of GST number will be displayed.

GST no search is possible with GSTIN and not otherwise.

You can search details of a registered person with GSTIN but you cannot find GST number of a person with details of person.

However you can guess the numbers. Every GST number starts with state code for example person registered in Karnataka will have starting letter 29 followed by PAN number and last 3 digits you can do trial and error method.

You cannot search GSTIN number and details with GST number. You have to get the GSTIN of person to view information.

However in case of migrated (90%) are migrate, if you have their PAN in you can search with help of PAN first their GSTIN and then details.

Here is an indirect method to search details of a tax payer using his name.

You can apply this method for company and LLP.

First step is to find their PAN and then searching migrated tax payers using PAN number.

For example, if you want to know GSTIN of Reliance Industries Limited. Go to MCA website search their master data you will get name and date of registration. Based on this details find PAN of reliance and search on GST website in search migrated link.

Searching GSTIN with name is not possible.

GSTN has not released search facility to search GST number with name.

You need to contact your vendor/customer and know their name. This function is not available and it is not possible to search GST number with name.

GST Search or GST no search

You can search GST details of person on GST website with help of GST number or UIN number. GST website is top place for searching details of a registered person with help of GST number.

GST number search by PAN

You cannot search GST number with help of PAN. Earlier we had one option of searching migrated tax payers on GST website, where we could search with help of PAN number of a person. But this option is removed now and one cannot search gst number with PAN.

GST number check

If you want to check a gst number whether it is correct or wrong, you can search it on GST website. On GST website you can easily enter a gst number and search whether GSTIN is wrong or right.

There is no other option to check whether GST number is wrong or correct.

GST search by company name

Again, you cannot search a GST number with company name. The option to check GST number by entering company, firm or person name is not possible.

We do not have any option to search GST number by company name.

GST dealer search

You cannot search details of dealer unless you have his GST number. You can search GST details of dealer only if you have his GST number, otherwise it is not possible.

Bonus tip

You can still search GST number with PAN but you have to apply trial and error method.

You can try searching with PAN by entering state code first, then PAN number and last 3 digits use trial and error method.
